Guys I love MFL, but I have to tell ya I'm a little disappointed in the new features added this year. Don't get me wrong I still think MFL is the best, it's just I thought we'd see more new features than we did. I've been with FFLM/MFL for about 10yrs now. What's everyone else's opinion on this?

Everything has been fine by me. Not sure what amazing new features MFL could actually introduce outside of a complete overhaul of the interface. But right now everything works fine for us, no need to fix what ain't broke. Just my leagues opinion.

Also keep in mind that a lot of the new features are usually from suggestions of their customers via support tickets. There have been a bunch of enhancements over the years that customers suggested and MFL was able to implement. Now not all suggestions can or will be implemented.
Unless something new comes that is a game changer, I'm actually quite happy with what they have. I don't even use everything they offer in the first place. All I ask is for no downtime, especially during game day. That is the utmost important to me above all else.

I have full satisfaction with the MFL.But I think new features will be good to increase popularity of this league.I like to have eye-candy and more smoother interface for it.

I completely agree with this ..
All I ask for is no downtime as well.

They added about 1 out of 50 things I requested. 2% success rate!!!!
It be nice if they did more for their customers but the more I am using this site the more I have learned you have to take what they give you and they are deaf to your needs. You have to work around what they do. They are of little help at all.
They have even recommened me to go to another site. What nerve for them to tell me that. Is that how you treat your customers ?

And one thing you need to realize is this (which is something I had to learn): If something you request would only be used by say 1% of the community then they aren't going to spend a lot of development time on it unless it's a pretty quick thing.
I've had several requests added over the years but I have 2 or 3 outstanding requests dating back a few years. I know they will probably never get added because while it would be a good addition, not many leagues would use it and it would take quite a bit of overhaul of the entire transaction system which could introduce some bugs. So it's one of those things I know will probably never be added but I come at it different ways each year and have gotten small little things changed/added which help get closer to the goal.
But by far the biggest thing is to realize that you and your league are just one of tens of thousands (probably hundreds of thousands) and thus if you have some quirky rule or something that just isn't used by a lot of leagues it will probably never get added.
Now having said that, as the Hawk asks, what exactly are you looking for to be added? Perhaps we can help with a work around or give you an idea of how many league might use it (see my post just above).

The thing I have always wondered is this: why does MFL still tell people to use FFLM for their drafts? Why not just incorporate a draft feature like FFLM runs, but through the MFL site? It's a pain to use FFLM, and I'm having issues with it this year for the first time ever. It's an old program that needs to be dumped, and I'm not about to pay someone else to run my draft.
We run our draft with everyone in the same room, with the commissioner (me) entering all of the draft picks as they are made. Surely, there are TONS of leagues that do this. Just make it happen through the web site and GET RID OF FFLM!!!

You can do that right on the MFL web site. So long as you're in a location with Internet access (and what sports bar doesn't these days) you can log into the live draft room as the commish and enter in all the picks as they happen.
Personally I tend to drink a bit too much to do that so I still write all the picks down the old fashioned way on paper and then enter the picks in the live draft room later while I sober up.

But yea, you can certainly enter in the draft live on MFL, been able to for years. Perhaps it doesn't have all the features FFLM did, not sure, but you can do it.

We have used both a paper draft board which i print from fflm and the online feature for those teams that can not make draft because of distance. Draft room works fine for online draft. I do wish they would incorporate the fflm feature of being able to print a draft kit right from mfl

Yes, but if I were to do that, I would have to choose each team manually for every single pick, right? I opened it up briefly and checked it out. Using the FFLM draft function, when a pick was made the draft order automatically went to the next team in the draft order, so all I had to do was choose the player. Do any other commissioners do this (enter the draft entirely on their own)? If so, have you ever used the live draft room to enter every pick? Am I correct that I would have to select the team first and then select the player?

MFL does the exact same thing, it automatically goes to the next team for their pick. At least as far as I remember and I've been using the live draft room to enter picks for the past few years. So unless something has changed you should be all set. What you can easily do to test is to duplicate your league to a test league (free) and start up the draft and see how it works. That way you'll know how it all goes.

That was a good suggestion to create a test league, bonscott. I did that, and it appears that the picks do automatically move to the next team in the draft order. I will have to turn the draft timer off, though, because I noticed that the pick skips to the next team if it isn't done within the 60 seconds we allow, and I don't want to go through the commissioner setup screen to change a missed pick. I think my solution to this will be to download a countdown timer and have it on the screen so I can tell people how much time they have left. I might even get a video projector to display the draft screen and the timer on a wall.
MFL definitely needs to tweak a couple of things (or just add additional features that FFLM has), but I think I will be able to use the live draft room for our draft. The biggest advantage to the live draft room is that the rosters will already be filled out when the draft is done, and I won't have to rely on FFLM to upload the rosters correctly. I have never had a problem with this in the past, but it always concerns me until I review each team's roster following the upload.

My "low tech" solution I've used for years is a cooking/egg timer. I bring one every year. We have 2 minute picks. So I start it, easy to see the big numbers to give an update of how much time is left and it starts beeping like crazy when you're out of time and everyone in the room knows time is up. Works great.

We have used the live draft room for years with no issues, this year we literally have people all over the globe, Afghanistan, Taiwan for example, and expect no trouble based on the track record. A couple of years ago I started inviting a friend to act as the commish for the draft so I could just worry about my own team and this has helped alot. We setup a test league and he ran a couple test drafts to be familiar with how the room works. He is now my expert and I don't remember much beyond the team interface. Definatly worth all the beer and wings he eats!

Uhhhhh, MFL is still lacking a Live Auction Feature!! When is this going to happen? There is a huge demand for live auctions as seen by other sites supplying live auctions. ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, etc....all feature live auctions.....yet MFL is still lacking. We started a thread 3-4 yrs ago about this and it's a huge thread now with other Commishes chiming in requesting this same feature. Let's all get together and make it happen!! No more transferring rosters from CBS to MFL anymore please!!
