I just got my Directv price for NFL Sunday ticket knocked down to $180 so make sure you call them and dont pay full price

...and no more Superfan...HD is included with standard ST this year as well as RZChannel, Short Cuts, Game Mix etc

So, no need to pay for Superfan? How did he get his ST knocked down to $180? If that's the case, I'll be ordering today. Was going to wait until August.

Called Direct TV today:
- Received letter regarding the NFL Sunday Ticket. My Price $49.99 @ 6 payments = $299.94
- I told them that I never paid for the Superfan and now that's included in the total price.
- And I been a customer for over 7 years.
- And I told them that Comcast is giving free HD for life.

They are deducting $20.00 a month for 6 months for being a 'Loyal Customer.'
Sunday NFL Ticket @ $29.99 for 6 months = $179.94.

Is the Redzone channel sold seperately this year or is it bundled with sunday ticket or this superfan?

All i want now is the redzone channel going forward, that is so cool.

This is the way I understand it...I haven't made my yearly call yet....

What used to be ST plus SuperFan is now just called Sunday Ticket now. (This includes HD, RedZone, Gamemix, Short Cuts and whatever else)

As I am sure Directv is finding out, many are bailing because other providers are offering their version of a RedZone channel now and its nowhere near the price of ST.

When you call in, just say CANCEL SERVICE....which will bring you to the operators in charge of keeping you.

I haven't made my call yet, will update when I do, but it seems most are getting somewhere in the $150-$180 price range so I will get that or better or NO DEAL.

I agree and will do the same, and this year I mean really if they cancel me then I am ok with it...dont have the time like I did in the past and can live without it. That bundle crap sucks. I just want RZ

I just called and got sent to the premiere service department and they knocked off the $20 on the monthly payments which got the overall price to just under $180.

I hear that. My "quality time" this year is drastically less than previous years so I will cancel this year if they don't really work with me.

Make sure you try to get them to knock off something else you pay for. I got them to take off $7 for my DVR service + the $20 per month for Sunday Ticket. Basically I am paying $137.94 a month for Sunday Ticket. Looking forward to the season.

No, I told her that I had been a customer since 1999, but it was getting too expensive and to drop it. Then she ended up offering me 3 packages with the last being $20 off each month. I told her if they could also not charge me for my DVR ($7) service for 6 months like they did last year I wouldn't cancel Sunday Ticket. She said she had to check something and came back and said they could do it. Plus my mentality going in was to cancel, so I really didn't have much to lose if she said no.

Well, they must be playing hard to get, because I called and said I'd cancel. They're not budging on that price one iota.

They only offered a $10 off each month. That knocks $60 off the total price. I'll take that.

Call back again. This time, despite what they gave you already, tell them a friend of yours got a better price and that makes you mad. You have to play Directv Rep Roulette a little bit.

I just called and got 20$ knocked off my price per month as well. The customer rep described it a s promotion they have and the whole conversation took about 3 min. Thanks for the info.

That's why the direcTV version of redzone is way better. Andrew Siciliano is really good at keeping the games flowing

yeah, i caught him at a friends house, and he made things flow better. hansen screws up names and just seems nervous. i did think he showed more split screens and jumped to action better though.

Yep...they pick Andrew to host RedZone over Hansen because he has those radar ears...

...and Big Ears has some pretty funny one-liners couple times a day too. Damn, I am so ready for this season.

Thanks guys, I just called and got $20/month knocked off too - she pitched $10 off and I asked for $20 and she had no problem doing it.

Too bad I cancelled ours last year...Their prices are crazy.

So I finally got to calling today...

She told me that she could do nothing for me...lol....as she shows credits of like $300 in the last year to my account. I told her I know of many folks who are getting the Ticket for 150-180 and even a few that got it free......she didn't budge. Told her that Dish is offering everything under the sun for 85/mo (which is what I am paying here) and they have RedZone Channel (even though its the lesser one). She didn't budge. HAHA

So I cancelled my ST.

She then said she would give me the RedZone Channel (lesser one) for free. (Didn't even realize they offered that channel)

Then I had her remove the HD Extra crap (6 lame channels anyways) Told her that was all for now but that I am calling Dish now to see how much they want a new customer who will pay them about 80/mo.

Before I call Dish, gonna call DTV one more time and see if I get a better rep this time...despite whatever credits I was given, I wouldn't think they want an 80/mo account to leave to their competitor.....over ST which they are airing anyways and giving discounts on left and right.

She did make sure to tell me that if I leave, I am under contract til March and I think she said would have to pay $20/mo through that month which is $160 or so....LOL....Thats 2 months of my normal bill princess....haha

Called back 10 minutes later....got a guy on the phone. Told him that I was just calling to confirm that it was $20/mo for the rest of my contract if I leave DTV because I had just got off the phone with "Michelle" and she said I had too many credits and she canceled my Ticket.

He said that was ridiculous and he couldn't believe she had said that to me. LOL

He says that he can give me ST To-Go for free. Told him it is worthless to me.

He said he could get me ST for 29.99/mo vs the current 44.99 that it was. Thats 180 and too much for me I said.

He gives me Showtime for free for 3 months. Great but who cares.

He says he can give me next months credit of 120 and pay my bill for me. OK My bill isnt 120 but you can credit me 120. I will play ball.

5 minute HOLD

Says he got it done. So I ask him, "If you can credit me 120 for next month, and you can get ST down to 180 for me, how about I pay my own bill and you make ST $60.

He says, Sure no problem! LMFAO

Wow, glad we made this entire thing as painful as it possibly could be.

So next month, he has added the entire $60 to my normal bill, I will pay it and be done with this nonsense. ST for $60 is mighty fine by me.


So here is what I learned folks. When they offer you stuff, the spin you out with per month costs and they track your discounts and such....$20 off a month for 6 months is better than $10/mo for 12 months.....
Basically, instead of them crediting you for all sort of different crap, only allow them to apply credits to your ST and you can get that once-a-year cost down.

I want st to go but not the actual channels. I have an iPad and watch the pack in my area already. Really just want it for fantasy football keeping track and watching. Would they offer just the Togo without the actual package?

Thanks for the information. I just called DirecTV and complained about being a valued customer yet still paying full price for Sunday Ticket while others were paying significantly less. I told them that others were only paying $29.99 a month, and that is what they changed my price to. It is not retro-active, so the payment that I already made for Sunday Ticket can not be credited, but starting today I will only be paying $29.99 a month.
